PROCS: Rescuing Children from the Streets of Ethiopia

In 2001 Ananas Girmai founded PROCS (Protection, Respect and Opportunity for Children on the Streets), an NGO dedicated to helping children in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Many parents lack the resources to care properly for their children, who are left to work on the streets, deprived of their education and exposed to exploitation – girls in particular.

PROCS provides these children not only with access to food, schooling, medical care, and an environment in which to escape the cycle of poverty but a path to a brighter future.
