“Give Women a Choice” was the main chant at the protest organised by IOHR outside the Iranian Embassy in London. Dozens of protesters came out to call for the release of women jailed in Iran for protesting against the compulsory hijab (veiling law) forcing women to cover their hair. Among those detained is prominent human rights lawyer Nasrin Soutdeh sentenced to 38 years and 148 lashes for defending those jailed female protesters.
