A volunteer’s view from the frontline in the battle against COVID-19 in Italy

Italy has suffered the loss of over 17,000 thousand people to the coronavirus. As the death rate rises, so does the pressure on all hospital medical staff and those volunteers who support them like Dario Liotto. Working with the Civil Protection and the National Association of Public Assistance (ANPAS) in the district of Treviso, Dario helps to assess incoming patients in the triage tents to keep accident and emergency wards isolated. Mr. Liotto highlights his experience of the impact of the pandemic in the local communities.
