Despite being one the of most affluent countries in Europe, Norway continues to fight a drug overdose battle. Generation X makes up the highest overdose rate in the country, leading to demands to build a more structured follow-up for drug treatment entrants after a non-fatal overdose to avoid relapse. The head of the International Department Stig Erik Sørheim at ACTIS, a Norwegian umbrella organisation for NGOs in the alcohol and drug field, speaks of the work that member organisations are doing to cope with the issue.
