IOHR Supports Abolition of the Death Penalty at the 7th World Congress

Ministers of State, parliamentarians, witnesses, civil society and a former executioner were some of the 1500 people from 115 countries who gathered in the EU Parliament to discuss the strategies for the abolition of the death penalty. 60% of the global population still live under the threat of this barbaric sentence with over 20,000 people sitting on death row as of 2019.
