Radhika Coomaraswamy recalls her experience with statelessness from her childhood in Sri Lanka to the institutional roles she took on. She was appointed to the Independent International Fact – Finding Mission on Myanmar by the United Nations Human Rights Council in 2017 focussing on human rights violations by military and security forces. Radhika shares her knowledge about the issue of stateless children: till July 2012, she served as the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict until July 2012.
