Canadian museum for human rights acknowledges the genocide against Indigenous Peoples

After years of criticism, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights has now recognised the plight of Indigenous Peoples in Canada as an act of genocide. To what extent can the word genocide be used? How can genocide related trauma impact Indigenous communities today?

Laith Marouf, a media policy consultant at the Community Media Advocacy Centre in Canada, shares his views on the museum’s new stance. He discusses the work he does to help these communities and his mission to give a voice to the voiceless Indigenous people through setting up media-related projects that focus on their plight.
