Join the International Observatory of Human Rights for a breakfast session (refreshments are provided) looking at the issue of statelessness worldwide and citizenship policies at home in the UK.

The first hour will be dedicated to showcasing how media can be used for advocacy and the work of IOHR TV, the world’s first human rights channel. We will be previewing our newest series, Spotlight on Stateless, and bringing along guests of the series to talk about their first-hand experience of statelessness.

The second hour will focus on citizenship policies in the UK, exploring the political motivations behind the rising costs of child citizenship applications. The current charge of £1,012 per application marks a 51% increase from 2014. We will make the case that any future Labour manifesto must include a pledge to waive the fees charged for children to apply for citizenship.
